Picard finds “The Next Generation” in the series finale teaser and poster

Paramount + took advantage of Comic-Con International, in San Diego, to publish the first teaser and a collection of posters featuring the characters from the third and final season of “Star Trek: Picard”.

The next installments of the series will bring together the original cast of the classic series “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, which introduced the title character Jean-Luc Picard in the 1980s.

The plot will promote Patrick Stewart (Picard) reunion with Jonathan Frakes (Ryker), LeVar Burton (Geordi La Forge), Michael Dorn (Worf), Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi) and Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher), in addition to retain two cast members from previous seasons of “Picard”, Michelle Hurd (Raffi) and Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine).

The crew of the Enterprise NCC1701-D have not shared a joint mission in two decades, not since Paramount released the movie “Star Trek: Nemesis” (2002), but Picard found Ryker and Troi – and met their daughter – in the first season of the new series, which still showed Data’s memories. By the way, actor Brent Spiner has been seen in the series in other roles, such as Data creator Dr. Altan Inigo Soong and his ancestor Adam Soong. In addition to them, Wil Wheaton, who played Wesley Crusher in the first few seasons of “The Next Generation,” also briefly reprized his role in last season’s finale.

Unfortunately, season 3 will be the last of “Star Trek: Picard”, which is scheduled to premiere in 2023.
