SDCC: Who are the villains in “Shazam: Wrath of the Gods”?

The first trailer was released during San Diego Comic Con.

With the same vibe as the previous film, Shazam: Wrath of the Gods gets its first official trailer, released during SDCC 2022. The film takes place a few years after the first feature film and some points are interesting to note.

At first, we see that Shazam lives with an internal dilemma, like his Shazam family! he is not as connected as he would like, nor as united as he thought they would all be.

Shortly thereafter, Billy confirms that “everyone is doing something different”, reinforcing the theory that everyone is living their own life and following different paths.

However, the trailer introduces the sequel’s villains, who will be the Daughters of Atlas. The characters emerge as a great threat and with the aim of destroying the Shazam family, as they believe they are depleting the powers of the gods, manipulating all this energy in the wrong way.

Another interesting point is the arrival of actresses Hellen Mirren, who plays Hespera, and Lucy Luy, who plays Kalypso, Hespera’s sister.

One of the most enigmatic characters is that of Rachel Zegler, as there is a theory that she would be part of the villain family. However, the character had already been confirmed as Freddy’s love interest, by the Shazam family, which could lead her to join the “good guys”.

Fun as ever, the trailer also features several Easter eggs, like. Annabelle, who appears in the pediatrician’s office where Shazam is located at the beginning of the video.

Shazam: Wrath of the Gods will be released in theaters on December 29th.
