Will Captain America 4: Brave New World be the longest film in the Marvel saga?

After slowing down in 2024, when only Deadpool & Wolverine hit theaters, the Marvel Cinematic Universe resumes its momentum. At a more sustainable pace, with three movies coming to theaters in 2025: Captain America: Brave New World, Thunder* and Fantastic 4.

So this is the next part of the saga of Captain America, now led by Anthony Mackie and the other Chris Evans, who will take the ball on February 12 and lay the first brick on the road that will lead to Avengers: Judgment Day, planned. For release on February 12th. April 29, 2026 and was announced in the heart of last summer. From here you know that the pieces of the puzzle must finally start to fit together.

By now, it’s almost certain that President Ross (played by Harrison Ford, replacing the late William Hart) will transform into the Red Hulk. And that the plot revolves specifically around a Celestial who sits in the middle of the Earth since the end of eternity and whose body was made of adamantium, the indestructible metal that Wolverine’s claws and skeleton are notably made of. Encourage a bit more X-Men integration into the MCU.

In a feature film that can last up to 2 hours (depending on the cinema channels treatment and Odeon) or a little less (AMC Theaters announces 1h58 on its site), when IMDB shows 2h15, the average length of an MCU movie. Since the site is open to outside input, this is probably the least reliable information on that front, absent official communication from Disney and Marvel Studios.

The shortest film in the Captain America saga?

So far, Brave New World is shaping up to be the shortest Captain America film, even if the record is a little too much to talk about, clocking in at four to six minutes less than the first one. Saga opus. And a little over half an hour less than the Civil War, which will remain the longest.

While waiting for the official release, which shouldn’t take long as the release is less than a month away, we can still assume that the final length of the film (counting credits and extra scenes included in it) is close. Shown by various theater chains that no doubt had access to the information at various times during post-production, it underwent its share of reshoots and rewrites. So changing the duration.

Return after 17 years

Directed by Julius Ona (The Cloverfield Paradox), Captain America: Brave New World will feature several return scenes, most notably that of Betty Ross, played by Liv Tyler, reprising her role seventeen years after The Incredible Hulk. Just like Tim Blake Nelson with Samuel Stearns who now calls himself a leader.

Up-and-coming New Falcon Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez) will also appear, as will Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumble) or Everett Ross, and rumors suggest Mark Ruffalo will be in the role of Bruce “Hulk” Banner. And new additions will be the spy Sabra (Shira Haas, the revelation of the mini-series Unorthodox) or the mysterious Sidewinder, played by Giancarlo Esposito, who joined the cast during filming.

Seen in the first trailer, his place in the story is still unclear, but we should know very soon. In less than a month and in just two hours.
