With a solitary goal, Fortaleza beats Chicago Fire and returns to Brazil prepared.
Under the lights of the Sandpiper Bay Resort, Fortaleza took the field to face the Chicago Fire, in a duel marked by the search for harmony and adjustments for the next season. It was more than a friendly match; it was an opportunity for coach Vojvoda to test schemes, observe new talents and consolidate the identity of Leão’s game.
Fortaleza, who had lost against Miami United 2-1 the day before (with a goal from Breno Lopes for Leão and a brace from Diego Morales for the opponent), sought redemption in this second friendly on American soil.
The highlight of the evening was Moisés, who scored the only goal of the match, ensuring a 1-0 victory for the Ceará team. It was clear that, despite being a friendly, the match represented an important chapter in Fortaleza’s planning for 2025.
Fortaleza concludes the pre-season in the United States and returns to the field next Tuesday (21st), to make their debut in the Copa do Nordeste against Moto Club.
