Rivages on France 2: Will there be a season 2?

On January 6, France 2 released Rivages, a fantasy and environmental thriller produced by Fleur Geffrier and directed by David Hourey.

Over the course of six episodes, viewers followed the adventures of Abigail, an oceanographer sent to Fecamp to investigate the unexplained sinking of the Rose Davis, one of her father’s trawlers, and its 14 sailors.

During his research, mysterious phenomena were occurring at sea, which made the activities of fishermen impossible, even though they were essential to local life.

Determined to understand these anomalies, he defies all prohibitions and returns to the water to record the seismic activity of an underwater fault.

During his investigation, the scientist quickly realizes that these disasters are actually caused by an underwater presence that can upset the fragile balance between man and nature.

In tonight’s episode, Abigail dives into the blame and finally lifts the curtain on the secrets hidden in Fecamp Bay.

But as Abigail’s adventures come to a close, viewers are left wondering if Rivage will be eligible for a second season.

Season 2 for Rivages?

Unfortunately, the chances of the series returning for another round of episodes are slim. Indeed, Rivages was always presented as a six-episode mini-series.

The final episode of the series, broadcast tonight on France 2, offers a solution to the many mysteries surrounding Fécamp Bay. Therefore, France 2 would have no reason to decide to renew Rivages for a second season.

Watch the last two episodes of Rivages this Monday, January 20, from 21:10 on France 2. Don’t miss the episodes!
