The director lost space in the club’s decisions after the arrival of Pedro Martins and asked to leave the club. The future could be at Atlético-MG
Santos announced this Monday (20/01) the dismissal of Paulo Bracks. He held the role of general manager and had been in Peixe since June last year. However, after the arrival of CEO Pedro Martins, the director asked to leave the club. His future must be at Atlético Mineiro.
Bracks was hired by Santos to take on the role of CEO, being responsible for diagnosing several areas of Peixe, not limited to the football department. However, the director began to receive severe pressure in the club’s day-to-day activities. Thanks above all to some unsuccessful purchases at Alvinegro Praiano.
The trigger occurred at the beginning of the year. The delay in agreeing a new coach led Marcelo Teixeira to hire Pedro Martins. The new CEO was in charge of the football department. Paulo Bracks, in turn, was tasked with managing and reorganizing all administrative areas of the club.
The director says goodbye to Santos
However, the loss of the role affected the director. In January the professional even went to coach Rei Pelé to watch the team train, but only in his capacity as club manager. Thus he came into the sights of Atlético-MG, who is looking for a new executive director for the club. In a statement, Paulo Bracks thanked Marcelo Teixeira for the opportunity and said goodbye to Peixe.
“I am very grateful to president Marcelo Teixeira and the board for the opportunity. In 2024 we achieved all the main management objectives, with the return to Serie A, the Serie B title, financial balance, increased revenues, the legal control and the optimization of the company’s contract. I thank the staff and the players for the great and healthy coexistence we have had during these 7 months of work!”, wrote Paulo Bracks.
