The confusion between Augusto Melo and the councilor delays the vote on impeachment at Corinthians

The current president of the club and Romeu Tuma, president of the Deliberative Council, were characters in disagreement with heated spirits

The Deliberative Council of Corinthians meets this Monday (20th) at Parque São Jorge to decide with a vote on the impeachment of president Augusto Melo. However, the ceremony was suspended for 10 minutes after the exchange between the club president and the president of the Deliberative Council, Romeu Tuma.

The confusion occurred because of the method Romeu Tuma Jr. adopted to decide on the admissibility of the case. He suggests that councilors express their opinions by standing or remaining seated. However, Augusto Melo’s allies did not agree with this procedure and argued that the right thing to do would be to vote with ballot papers.

In this way, In the most tense moment of the confusion, Augusto Melo and the Prime Minister had a heated debate. Thus, Roberson Medeiros, president of the Ethics Committee, had to stand between the two and separate them, while the leaders faced each other, pointing fingers and shouting.

The meeting was scheduled for December, but Augusto Melo obtained an injunction preventing the vote, with Corinthians councilors already present at Parque São Jorge. According to GE information, in fact, the president tried to issue a new injunction for this evening, but without success.
