Legendary guitarist John Sykes died this Monday (20th), at the age of 65 years old. He was a guitarist for big rock bands like Whitesnake and ThinLizzy and was battling cancer. The news of the death of John Sykes was published on his official account on Instagram.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that John Sykes has passed away after a tough battle with cancer. He will be remembered by many as a man with exceptional musical talent, but for those who did not know him personally, he was a caring, man kind and charismatic, whose presence lit up the room”wrote the late artist’s team.
“[…] In his final days, he spoke of his sincere love and gratitude for his fans who had been by his side all these years,” concluded.

John Sykes participated in important works of White snakeespecially in the band’s classics like Here I am again AND This is love. Furthermore, he joined the select list of 100 greatest heavy metal guitarists of all time from the renowned magazine World of guitarin 2004.
During his career, Sykes he worked with other bands in the genre, such as Blue murder AND Pan Tang Tigers. Between 1989 and 1999 he was married to Jennifer Brooks-Sykes and leaves behind his three children: John Jr., Sean AND James.
