Last week, TF1 released the first trailer for All the Blue in the Sky, its new event TV movie with Camille Lu (Cat’s Eyes) and Hugo Becker (The Promise), adapted from the sold-out bestseller by Melis and Costa. Over 1.5 million copies. This fiction, which fans have been eagerly waiting for, will be broadcast on TF1 on Monday 27th January at 21:10.
Directed by Maurice Barthélemy and written by Claire Lemarchal, Across the Blue Sky follows Emil, a young man suffering from early-onset Alzheimer’s who decides to spend his remaining months traveling.
To avoid traveling alone, he posts ads online and meets Joan, a young woman trying to escape her past. They cross the Pyrenees together in a van.
This initiatory journey shatters their certainties and evokes feelings they never thought they would experience again…
This detail Camille Lou wanted to see
At a press briefing, Camille Lu, who plays Joan, confided that she had read Blue Sky before accepting the role of Joan.
Like the readers of the novel, he was very committed to making the adaptation as faithful as possible. So there was a detail in the trailer that he wanted to see in the TV movie: the big black hat that Joan was wearing.

“It was extremely important for me to protect the image that was in the book. It was an absolute obsession“- confided the actor. “Because of what he is going through and his clothes play a role in the story. They say something about Joan.”
And Melissa da Costa added:Every reader who has read the book has an image of this big, very loose black dress in which she disappears and disappears completely. And this hat…“.
“I really wanted to. We tried on several hats to find the one that fit best– Camille Lu added. “At first, Hugo (Becker) doubted the hat.“
“But I told him we couldn’t do without it. This is out of the question. Joan is hiding in the shadow of the hat“. A key detail of Joan’s character, which is therefore definitely present in the adaptation, as shown in the All the Blue in the Sky trailer.
See you on Monday 27 January at 21:10 on TF1 to discover all the blue in the sky. The TV movie will also be available for that date on the TF1+ platform as well as Netflix.
