The directors of The brutalista potential Oscar-winning film distributed by A24, used artificial intelligence (AI) to adapt dialogue and create images for the epilogue, as editor Dávid Jancsó explained in a recent interview with RedShark News.
The drama follows a fictional Hungarian architect (Adrien Brody), and artificial intelligence was employed to correct Brody and Felicity Jones’ pronunciation in Hungarian, using technology from the company Respeecher.
While the process was possible with traditional editing, AI helped speed up production given the high volume of Hungarian dialogue.
Artificial intelligence was also used in other parts of the film
Respeecher had already been used in productions such as Obi-Wan Kenobiand the use of artificial intelligence in films tends to expand as a way to reduce costs and optimize production.
