Botafogo decides to close the deal for the striker who plays in Japan

Yokohama Marinos rejected Anderson Lopes’ latest offer and announced that they will not release the player for Brazilian football

This Wednesday (22), the board of directors and the football department of Botafogo have decided to conclude negotiations for striker Anderson Lopes, currently in Japanese football. After Yokohama Marinos rejected a second offer, Glorioso chose not to continue negotiations. The Japanese club has made it known that it does not intend to release the player.

The Botafogo board of directors has informed the athlete’s agents that they will not make a third proposal to Yokohama Marinos. The figures offered by Anderson Lopes, 31, reached 2 million euros (around 12.5 million reais at current prices), but were not enough to convince the Japanese. The information comes from the ge portal.

With this, Botafogo continues to look for reinforcements for the attack. Tiquinho Soares’ departure to Santos has reduced the options to Matheus Nascimento and Igor Jesus. Furthermore, the club is also looking for a replacement for Júnior Santos, who moved to Atlético.

Despite the negative result, Anderson Lopes had shown interest in playing for Botafogo. The player, considered an area attacker, would be an important piece in the planning of the football department. Last season, he scored 36 goals and provided eight assists in 55 appearances for the Yokohama Marinos. Anderson has been in Japanese football since 2016.
