The document will be updated to reflect “new requests from the left in the 21st century”, according to the
THE Psol The first review of the party program from the foundation of the subtitle will begin, almost 20 years ago. The trial will begin with a national directory meeting on February 15 and 16, when a committee responsible for the reformulation of the document, published in 2005. The final version should be presented in September.
“The fundamental PSOL program is almost exclusively and exclusively an analysis of the time, which had its value for the initial phase of the party, consolidation, nationalization, but today it is absolutely insufficient, as, in general, it is the program Brazilian on the left “, says the text sent from the party to Estadão.
The update will involve seminars in different states and a digital channel so that affiliates can send suggestions. “This process will be participatory, regionalized throughout the national territory and must be thus open, democratic and permeable, in particular for the new generations of affiliates and militants of the PSOL”.
According to the party, with the transformations of the company, topics such as the environmental agenda, identity problems and the demand for reducing hours and work stairs have obtained relevance. In addition, guidelines such as regulation of social networks and artificial intelligence were not in the political debate at the time and must now be taken into consideration.
The current program also mentions obsolete themes, such as the free trade area of the Americas (FTAO), abandoned for years and the reform of social security, already approved by the congress.
The reformulation was already scheduled from October 2023, when there was a change in command of the party. In an interview with Folha de São PauloPaula Coradi, president of Psol, denied that the decision is linked to the results of the municipal elections of 2024, in which PSOL could not elect mayors of San Paolo and Belém.
Even so, some leaders evaluate that the lack of updating has made the party vulnerable to attacks by opponents, in particular for the image of radicalism associated with acronym. Coradi, however, stressed that PSOL’s socialist identity will be maintained.
