The new trailer for the series is inspired Lord of the RingsThe Rings of Power opened Friday at Comic-Con in San Diego, and since then, a rumor has sent the Internet into a frenzy: Is Sauron, the big villain of Peter Jackson’s trilogy, already featured in the video?
Indeed, the excerpts particularly refer to a character who seems to be very busy, a blond man with hidden ears and dark eyes, who appears at Galadriel’s words: “Evil does not sleep, it waits”.

The series chronologically develops in the second era, when the author J.R.R. In Tolkien’s work, Sauron has already settled in Mordor and takes on a seductive appearance to appease the elves of Eregion, the region ruled by Galadriel. On Annatari’s behalf, he convinces them to forge the Rings of Power, while on his side he crafts the One Ring made famous by the Lord of the Rings plot.
The actor in question to play Sauron is Anson Boone, who appeared in small roles in Sam Mendes’ 1917, Roger Mitchell’s Black, and starred in the thriller The Winter Lake. Netflix subscribers saw him in the series Shadowplay (playing a younger version of Moritz, played by Logan Marshall-Green) and Disney+ subscribers saw him play singer John Lydon in the Sex Pistols…Pistol miniseries. Inspired by a punk band.

The actor does not appear at the official castings of the series at the moment, and this is all a theory. Will it turn out to be true? See you on September 2 to discover the first three episodes, which will be broadcast on Prime Video, and which will probably reveal more about this mysterious character.
