The North Korea leader rarely visits his father’s tomb

The North Korean leader Kim Jong Una paid homage to a family mausoleum for the birthday of his deceased father and former leader Kim Jong Il, the KCNA state property station said on Monday.

Kim Jong Il’s birthday, which takes place on February 16, is celebrated as an important holiday in North Korea, called Bright Star Day.

It was the first time in four years, however, that Kim Jong visited the Kumsusan Sun Palace in the capital Pyongyang, which hosts the embalmed bodies of his father and grandfather, to score his birthday.

Accompanied by his sister, Kim Yo Jong, and by a high official of the North Korean workers’ party, among other councilors, Kim Jong one paid homage to “with the most humble reverence,” said Kcna.

“He expressed his solemn desire to devote himself to the sacred struggle for the eternal prosperity of the country, the security of the people and the promotion of their well -being,” he said.

The Kim dynasty, which governs North Korea from its foundation after the Second World War, has tried to strengthen its control over power by building the cult of the personality act according to your predecessors.

In another order, Kcna said that Kim participated in a ceremony on Sunday for the final phase of his project to build 50,000 new houses in Pyongyang.

The initiative, launched in 2021 as part of Kim’s five -year -old plan to increase the economy, projects the delivery of at least 10,000 new Pyongyang apartments every year. Some analysts question the feasibility of the project between international penalties and economic problems.
