Actress almost starred in the canceled movie alongside Tatum

The actress LIZZY CAPLAN revealed new details about the canceled solo movie Gambitproject that Channing tatum developed for years within the 20th Century Fox. In an interview with Business InsiderCaplan described the tone of the feature, which would have a different approach from traditional superhero adaptations.

“We arrived very far in pre-production, we were going to start filming, we had a date. I had several meetings with channing, and things were in flow … In a moment we had a director, and then he gave up, but I remember talking a lot with channing and producers.”said the actress.

She explained that the concept of the film was inspired by classic romantic comedies:

“What they wanted to do was a romantic comedy in the 1930s Hollywood style, but within that superhero world. It would have been really fun.”

Gambit cancellation

The movie Gambit has undergone several changes over the years, with directors like DOUG LIMAN (In the limit of tomorrow) and GORE VERBINSKI (Pirates of the Caribbean) involved in the project at different times.
