Is it worth the website?
Released in 1963, cheetah is one of the masterpieces of Italian cinema, but also one of the largest films of Maestro Luchino Visconti. This film is adapted from the novel by Giuseppe Thomas di Lampedusa, published in 1958; Intrigues are found in Sicily in the 1860s, during the fall of the bourbon -driven bourbon by the Revolutionary Giuseppe Garibaldi.
Cheetah offered one of the best roles in his career Burt LancasterBut it was also possible to make the line of two of the most talented actors of their time: Alin Delon Sister Claudia Cardinal. Awarded by The Palme d’Or at the 1963 Cannes Film Festival, Visconti’s film was successful in theaters (more than 3.6 million access to France), despite difficult filming.
Not a movie remake, but a new adaptation of a novel
The seventh art masterpiece has remained a timely masterpiece, Cheetah is a remake, or rather, a new adaptation of the original novel. The ambition of this Netflix series with six episodes is not a measurement of itself in Visconti’s feature film, but also offers a new question of the novel by Giuseppe Tomasi di lampedusa.
Its format allows this new cheetah to offer a six-hour story when the 1963 feature film lasted 185 minutes (with its long version). This time saving allows the series to further explore the historical context of the story and bring even more depth to issues and characters.
To avoid any comparison, Deva Cassell did not want to see the movie. Its performance was completely based on the novel, but also the approaches of three directors of the series: Tom Shankland, Giuseppe Capotond and Laura Lucet.
In contrast, Saul Nan admitted that he was inspired by Alin Delon, one of his idols, though he tried to distinguish his interpretation to provide a new version of Tancrède Falconeri’s character. Comparison between the two adaptations is certainly inevitable, but the film and series make more than the antagonist.
