United announces a new stadium project for 100,000 fans

The Arena will replace the Old Trafford and will be the highest structure of Manchester

Manchester United has announced the project to build a new stadium with a capacity of 100,000 people on Tuesday (11). The new arena, which will lead to the demolition of Old Trafford, promises to transform the region and change the profile of the city.

The stadium will be built next to the current one and will become the highest structure of Manchester. In the days of clean sky, it will also be possible to see it from Liverpool.

One of the salient points of the project are the trees that will support the coverage. This is because two of them will be 150 meters high, while the third will reach 200 meters, exceeding the Beetham tower (169 meters), currently the highest building in the city. With this period, the new arena will be visible about 40 km away, including areas near Liverpool.

In addition, the stadium will also be higher than the Blackpool Torre, a famous attraction inspired by the Eiffel Tower, which is 158 meters.

As for the financing of work, the CEO of United Omar Berrada told Sky Sports that the club still studies the options.

“It is a very interesting investment opportunity and is part of a larger revitalization project. So we are confident that we will find a way to make practicable and work with the government to create an iconic and innovative project,” he explained.
