A Better Life Preview: Episode Summary for Friday, July 29, 2022 [SPOILERS]

Baptiste hears on the radio that Jacob confessed to killing Alice Ruiz. Refusing to hear more about it, he turns off his set. Justin pushes him to confide in him. Baptiste recounts how Alice always blamed Emma for everything, including Jacob’s kidnapping of her sister. Justin feels sympathy for Emma and tries to make Baptiste realize that he really needs her. Shortly after, Baptiste and Justine were called to the barracks because of a fire near the residence.

Meanwhile, Camille visits Emma to ask about her mother’s funeral. Emma corrects: There will be no funeral, but a simple cremation. Camille still feels her sister’s hostility toward her and relies on Jacob’s confession to proclaim her innocence loud and clear. Except Emma still suspects Jacob and Camille of having something to do with Caesar’s disappearance.

At the same time, Baptiste and Justine evacuate the residents of the subdivision. After which Baptiste goes to see Emma because he needs to watch Matisse. Baptiste first offers to protect Gabriel to accompany him to the cremation. Emma prefers to go alone.

While Baptiste takes Mathis to the barracks, Emma goes to her mother’s cremation with Kevin and Camille. The latter stands aside and admits that he does not feel well. Emma scatters the ashes alone. To Kevin’s face, she accuses Camille of pretending to cry. But the young man believes in the sincerity of his lover.

In the evening, Kevin returns to see Emma. After reflection, he admits that he is suspicious of Camille, whose strange behavior he has noticed for a long time. Emma urges him to open his eyes and get away from her before it’s too late…

Jean-Paul and Patrick try to remember that Prune’s baby castings are a scam. But when they spot Jennifer Mitchum in the distance flanked by two bodyguards, they take it seriously.

They go to Prune for the camera tests. Patrick has to take care of the hermit Raphael, so Prune starts Jean-Paul and Aurore.

Back at the police station, Jean-Paul and Patrick must report to Revel. The latter discovers that they do not have enough elements and exerts pressure to move the investigation forward. The two cops plan to take the time to gather evidence, specifically by questioning Prune. But they realize that they doubt his guilt.

Returning from the motorhome trip, Luna rushes into her mother’s room to tell her everything. But he is opposed to the bad mood of the latter, who is worried about his health.

A little later, Mirta leaves Zephyr without discussing it with Akira and Sunale. Luna then suspects her mother of the problem, but Bastien blames her behavior on being tired.

Mirta walks in Marseilles. Suffering from the heat, he takes refuge in a church that is on his way. Approaching confession, she surprises the priest with tears. The latter confides that he doubts the existence of God and can no longer find the words to lead the congregation. Mirta comforts him. The priest declares that his presence is a sign from God.
