Foreman won the Olympic gold in 1968 and was the world champion of the heavyweights on two occasions

George ForemanOne of the great icons in the history of boxing died on Friday 21, in the United States. He was 76 years old.

“Our hearts are broken. With profound sadness, we announce the death of our dear George Edward Foreman Sr., who started peacefully on March 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones,” said Foreman’s family in a declaration on social networks. The cause of death has not been revealed.

Foreman won the Olympic gold in 1968 and was world champion on two occasions in 1973, when he was 24 years old, and in 1994 at 45, when he became the oldest fighter to earn the category belt. In 1964, he fought Muhammad there in a struggle that became known as the “struggle of the century”
