1972 saw the release of ‘The Godfather’, a film based on a novel of the same name by Italian-American author Mario Puzo. It tells the story of Don Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando), head of one of the most powerful mafia families in New York. The head of the Corleones has four children, Connie, Sonny, Fredo and Michael.
When Vito Corleone refuses to join the drug business, another mob boss orders his death, sparking a bloody war between the mafia families.
“The Godfather” won two Oscars, Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay. For his part, Marlon Brando was recognized with the golden statuette as the best actor of the year.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this film, it is now possible to recreate its best scenes inside the Corleone mansion. And best of all, it’s accessible for almost all budgets.
“The Godfather”: you can rent Vito Corleone’s house
The mansion whose exterior is featured in some scenes of ‘The Godfather’ is available for rent, for any fan who wants to remember some of the best moments of the great Hollywood classic.
Located at 110 Longfellow Avenue in Staten Island, the Tudor-style mansion that served as the setting for Connie Corleone’s wedding is available for rent through the Airbnb platform.
This home will only be available for the entirety of August 2022, is 6,248 square feet, and guests are guaranteed access to most of the property’s rooms.
Those interested should contact via the Airbnb platform on Wednesday 28 July. Those selected will be able to live as one of Vito Corleone’s children for just $50 a night, which equates to paying $1,500 for the entire month.
The publication specifies that the persons requesting the reservation will have to bear the costs of transportation to and from the property.
One of the most important conditions is that those who wish to rent the mansion should do so for the entire month and not just for a few days.
‘The Godfather’ mansion for rent: What is Corleone’s house like?
‘The Godfather’ mansion was built in 1930 and last sold in 2016 for $2.4 million. It has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, but Airbnb specifies that it is best suited for two adults and up to three children.
Property amenities include a saltwater pool, basement bar, games room and spacious gym.
Visitors will have almost complete freedom to explore the mansion, except for the basement and attic closets, where the owners store some of their belongings.
Future guests will be responsible for the integrity of the mansion, so no extra people will be allowed to enter. Airbnb clarifies that people renting the “El Padrino” mansion should comply with local regulations against COVID-19, such as wearing a face mask and social distancing with property employees.
