Phenomenon Eddie Munson is clearly not done talking about it! Although Stranger Things returned to Netflix on May 27 with an all-new Season 4, the series, as always, introduced new faces to viewers. Among them, one character in particular became a social media sensation upon his first appearance.
Joseph Quinn plays Eddie Munson, the funny and endearingly eccentric leader of the high school Hellfire Club. Misunderstood by many, Eddie Hawkins’ time was punctuated by a heart-wrenching moment of self-pity, preceded by an epic performance. But now Metallica took that recognition a step further during a performance at the annual Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago on Thursday night. Indeed, the band members paid yet another tribute to Stranger Things’ mesmerizing metalhead as they closed the gig with the 1986 hit.
Shared on Instagram by a fan in the audience, the clip shows Metallica on stage, while clips of Eddie’s performance can be seen on two giant screens in between live close-ups of the band. When Eddie appears, the crowd screams and cheers.
