The World Commerce Organization (OMC) declared Tuesday that is examining the costs of the staff after the United States suspended the financing of the institution.
Reuters reported on March 27 that the United States, the main donor of the OMC budget, suspended his contributions, including the unpaid commissions to 2024, pending a revision of his support for international agencies – in an action confirmed by the United States government.
Since then, commercial sources have told Reuters that the WOP employees have been informed about the shopping reduction measures, such as not to replace some employees who withdraw or take short.
The OMC, which has 630 employees, said she had no plans for cuts to employees with fixed and regular contracts at the moment.
“In a recent meeting, the General Manager (Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala) declared to employees that, in response to the current financial climate, high management is exercising a tax prudence by reducing or postponing the expenses as needed,” said the WHO spokesman for the WHO ISMAILA DIENG in response to the finds.
He added that a new constitution committee would analyze vacant places and related expenses.
The measures are the background of recent US criticisms of the WOP expenditure and comes five years after its main court was paralyzed during Trump’s first term in the middle of us concerns about excessive power.
A delegate from the United States had already raised budget concerns for a meeting to mark the 30th anniversary of the organization, which now deals with the impact of the rates of the President of the United States Donald Trump on global trade.
Washington will also raise “systemic concerns” on the AUC actions during a Wednesday meeting, according to a document from the Agenda.
“It has become evident that the secretariat (OMC) is moving away from the purposes of its members and is trying to reinvent itself as a resource to be provided to the public, regardless of the opinions of the members or by the impact that these activities may have on the interests or on the budget contributions of the members”, has shown a delegation document of the United States.
The Budget of the WISS Swiss Swiss (239.99 million dollars) is less than many other global organs, some of which have been seriously affected by the cuts to Trump’s shopping.
The delegates say that theoretically it would be easy for any of the 166 WOP members to completely block the following budget at the end of this year, as these decisions should be taken for consent.
A spokesman for the United States mission in Geneva did not immediately respond to a commentary request.
