All three One Chicago shows are back in production for the 2022-2023 TV season, and fans only have a few months to wait before seeing more. Chicago police, Chicago fireYes Chicago Mediterranean The Marina Squerciati teams shared some photos to celebrate PS starting in season 10, and one features enough stars from any of the other shows to really miss the big crossovers.
Marina Squerciati was part of the Chicago police team dating back to the series premiere in 2014, but the first behind-the-scenes photo he shared On Instagram for the 2022-23 season, presented her with the stars of another show: Chicago Mediterranean. The actress’s caption may have said that “she came to the wrong show,” but I think it’s the right way to let fans know the action is back in Chicago for the shows. Her hashtag #crossover doesn’t necessarily mean Burgess will show up at the hospital, and it might just mean the PS The actress met Medicinal stars, but it still makes me miss the old days of big crossovers.
Sure, One Chicago has made some mini-crossovers over the past two seasons, with one or two characters appearing in one of the other shows whenever someone needed medical attention, police or fire department assistance. But NBC hasn’t aired a big event in three shows since 2019 and the latest two-part show in between Stoplight Yes PS aired in early 2020, just a few weeks before production stoppages interrupt filming . (You can broadcast these crossovers again with a peacock subscription .)
Of course, One Chicago has very good reasons not to go all out for another crossover event in the two seasons from the “Infection” trio involving Stoplight, PSYes Medicinal. Pandemic protocols have created significant challenges in getting individual shows back into production, without all the additional variables of a random cast crossover.
In reality, Chicago fire I had to suspend production for positive COVID tests more than once, first in autumn 2020 and then again in early 2022. PS it also stopped production in January. Chicago Mediterranean had to suspend production of the sixth season for a few weeks in autumn 2020, then mandatory vaccinations for cast, crew and crew for season 7 . Crossover events were effectively limited in most cases Wolf Entertainment’s nine TV series from the first closures in March 2020, with the exception of Law and order: SVU Yes Law and order: organized crime join forces e FBIunite to launch FBI: international Last year.
That said, I can’t help but hope the Chicago shows will cross a bit more in the new season, safety permitting. It’s always a shame we never saw Will Halstead’s reaction Medicinal find that Jay has escaped PS without inviting her to the wedding. We can always at least cross our fingers that One Chicago will reunite the Halstead brothers when the shows return in the fall!
All three One Chicago shows will return to NBC on Wednesday, September 21, starting with Medicinal at 8pm ET and followed by Stoplight at 21 and PS (with a new regular series ) at 10pm these previews arrive in a big week for Dick Wolf’s television universe like the three FBIyes and all three Rightyou are back too.
