Amazon Prime Video cancels ‘The Wilds’ after two seasons

The series returned in May with its second season.

Amazon Prime Video has confirmed the future of ‘The Wilds’ Y not good news.

The series of intrigue and survival has been canceled after two seasonsas reported dead line. The first season was well received and quickly renewed, but three months after its return, Amazon Prime Video has decided not to greenlight a third season.

The first season focused on a group of eight young women of different origins that meet stranded on a seemingly deserted island after a plane crash, only to find out later that it was all part of a social experiment. And, as much as the plot sounds familiar, ‘The Wilds’ is not a new ‘Lost’.

the second season of ‘The Wilds’ repeated the premise, but with a main cast of young menalthough the female characters from the first season continued to appear.

Fans have reacted strongly to the cancellation of ‘The Wildsone of Amazon’s most underrated series, making #RenewTheWilds trending on Twitter in the United States. Most fan messages focus on the strength of the female cast and relationships queer, instead of the male characters introduced in the second season. It’s just conjecture, but perhaps that change in focus in the series has caused a more subdued reaction towards the second season?

This same medium states that the cast only found out about the cancellation shortly before the news appeared on the Internet.

‘The Wilds’ was one of the first young adult pilots commissioned by Amazon Prime Video under the direction of Jennifer Salke, becoming the first to premiere and also the first to get a second season.
