South Korea and the United States will hold commercial consultations this week in Washington at the suggestion of the United States, said the Ministry of Commerce of Seoul.
The South Korean Finance Minister Choi Sang-Mok and the Minister of Commerce Ahn Duk-Gun will meet the commercial representative Jamieson Greer and the United States Treasury Secretary Scott Beesent, on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank meetings, declared the Ministry in a note.
South Korea hopes to reduce the mutual rate of 25% that President Donald Trump has announced to the country, which has since been suspended together with the tariff increases imposed on numerous countries.
