
Actor Jesse Eisenberg (“Zombieland: Double Tap”) will be honored at the Sarajevo Film Festival, which will take place from 12 to 19 August. Eisenberg will receive the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo Award and screen the film “When You Finish Saving The World”, which marks his directorial debut.
“When You Finish Saving the World” follows a woman dedicated to helping people who are struggling. But while she finds time to devote herself to others, she herself fails to connect with her son of her, a young man who wants to become an Internet celebrity.
Starring Julianne Moore (“After the Wedding”) and Finn Wolfhard (“Stranger Things”), the film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and subsequently screened at Critics’ Week in Cannes. Currently, “When You Finish Saving the World” has a 66% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Eisenberg won’t be the only winner at the event. The festival will also present the same award to actor Mads Mikkelsen (“Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets”), followed by the screening of the film “The Hunt”, which earned him the trophy for best actor at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. Mikkelsen he was supposed to receive the award in 2020, but the honor was delayed due to the pandemic.
