Wine South America brings 60 companies from the production of regions

The wine is the protagonist in Brazil during the 5th edition of Wine South America – International Wine Fair, in Bento Gonçalves, which continues until Thursday (8).

The event, held by Milanez & Milaneze, the Veronafiere Group Company, sees the presence of 430 wine companies grow by 20% compared to 2023.

Among these, the participation of triple Italian companies, reaching 60, also thanks to the support of the Ice Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies (Italian commercial agency). The official collective exhibitions of the Regions of Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia also make their debut.

Held in the main region of wine production and sparkling wines in Brazil, the South America wine has more than 7000 professionals and recorded buyers, 2,000 already scheduled B2B meetings and a program full of masterclasses, tastings and workshops, integrated by visits to the songs of Serra Gaucha to know the renowned “Vale Doseira” and ”

According to the UIV-Vinitalry wine observatory, Mercosur is still a small but promising market for Italy: the value generated by the South American free trade area for Belpaese is around 49 million euros, with a progression of items that has shown an average annual growth since 2019 at a rate of 5%. The most important market is Brazil, with a turnover of 43 million euros in 2024 and a share of over 84% of the total area. Following Venezuela and Uruguay (5%), Paraguay (4%) and Argentina, just above 1%.

The Italian ambassador to Brazil, Alessandro Corse, accompanied by the Italian Consul General to Rio Grande do Sul, Valerio Caruso, participated in the inauguration of the event, which has one of his strengths for the Italian Pavilion, coordinated by Ice/Ita, an agency commanded in Brazil by Milana Del Grosso, who brings together Italian companies. The space exhibits 256 labels, including red, white, roses and sparkling wines.

ICE/ITA, in collaboration with Veronafiere, has also contributed to the organization of the 24 companies of Abruzzo, Campânia, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Lombardy, Marche, Piedmont, Puglia, Sicily, Tuscan, Trust-Aid Adige, Ublest and Venetian in Fatithe.
