The Lent Series enhances VEIL’s unknown history of Cook Antonin Karme, located by Benjamin Voisin. The program is adapted from the biography of English historian Ian Kelly, which is dedicated to the first “star chef” in history. Who plays Napoleon in the series?

The ribbon was especially the personal chef of Talleyrand (Jérémie Renier), one of the most famous ministers of Napoleon Bonaparte. The emperor’s shadow also covers the serials and many characters around him – his wife Josefin de Buharnai and his brother Lucien Bonaparte, for example, are seen in eight episodes of the series.

However, Napoleon is only shown on the feast of a few scenes, most often taken from the back. A choice that therefore does not appreciate Frank Molinaro’s interpretation (recently seen in the Tapie series), which gives its characteristics to Bonaparte.

Why doesn’t Napoleon appear on the screen?

In the interview, he gave us Martin Martin Bourbulon’s creator (the director of three recent Diptichi musketeers) explained why Napoleon does not play a more central role in the program’s intrigue:

Napoleon is a central character, but not the main one. It is a bias that I am very excited and that enhances its dangerous side because it is the only character we never show, except once, very fast. It makes it unique, it gives it meaning, but that does not mean that the series spins around it.

This is what distinguishes it from other production dedicated to the Napoleonic epic. But this choice will have the merit to further enhance all the characters who contributed to his legend, but he generally does not see the screen enough in the biopic dedicated to Bonaparte’s life.
