“It forces you to go to somewhat obscure places.”
Spoilers for ‘The Witcher’ follow.
Joey Batey, from ‘The Witcher’, has revealed how he dealt with his dark torture scene in the second season of the Netflix series with Henry Cavill. In the second season, Joey’s character Dandelion he is captured by Rience, who tortures him for information about Geralt and Ciri.
speaking exclusively with DigitalSpyJoey said, “It was very, very difficult. A lot of the scenes you see indoors are actually outdoors.”
“It turns out that day was very cold, because it was the middle of winter”. He added, “You have to go somewhere a little dark for a long, long time to get over that.
“But fortunately, Chris [Fulton]who plays Rience, is such a sensitive actor… He’s so capable and willing to work with exactly my energy levels.”
Joey went on to explain how exhausting the shoot was and how going to a dark place mentally stayed with him even after the cameras stopped rolling: “I’m literally strapped to this chair for about 12 hours, repeating takes over and over again”said.
“It’s really, really… It can be really tiring.”, and you go to bed that night with a lot of things floating around your head. You have to rack up some really dark stuff in your head to be able to go to those kinds of places.

“Peror fortunately, I am surrounded by people who know me. He could easily say, ‘Joey needs a banana, and he needs it now, because his blood sugar just dropped.'”
“The whole gang on this show, it’s been like this, where you get to know everyone so quickly. It’s kind of like when we were kids, and we watched ‘Lord of the Rings,’ and we were like, ‘My God, they spent all this time together. They must be best friends.
“Can’t it be like that? And it’s like, ‘no: actually it is.'”
Joey added: “But that was a hard day… I couldn’t let Jaskier go until we finished work and I was able to sleep for like a month. I usually get sick then.”. My body usually says, ‘Rest.'”
You won’t have much time for it, because pre-production for a season (yet to be confirmed) has already started. Lauren Schmidtcreator of ‘The Witcher’ for Netflix, already has the scripts for season 3 ready. “We have the scripts and now we will bring the directors and the actors, and we will start to dig and reflect to make sure that it is the perfect season”, that’s what he said for Tape Radar.
Seasons 1 and 2 of ‘The Witcher’ can be seen worldwide on Netflix.
