“She-Hulk”: Disney + changes the release date of the series

Disney + has announced a new release date for the new Marvel Cinematic Universe series, She-Hulk: Defender of Heroes.

Initially, the series starring Tatiana Maslany in the role of She-Hulk, would arrive on August 17 and would be released weekly on Wednesdays, something already traditional for the MCU series. But less than a month after the premiere, Disney + has changed plans for She-Hulk’s release.

Now, “She-Hulk: Defender of Heroes” will arrive one day after the previous date, August 18th. Additionally, the series will now receive weekly episodes on Thursdays, becoming the first series in the MCU not to premiere on Wednesday by “Loki,” which arrived on Friday. The announcement was made through a video:

The reason for the change was not revealed by Disney +, but it can be speculated that Disney is trying to improve the ratings for “Ms. Marvel,” which did not perform well. However, the series that featured Kamala Khan did have the competition from Disney + ‘s “Obi-Wan Kenobi” and “The Boys” from Prime Video season 3.

The series will follow Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who changed her life when the blood of her cousin, Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner, comes into contact with hers, transforming her into the mighty She-Hulk. Thus, she must learn to balance her life as a hero and as a lawyer, who gets involved in cases with superhumans.

Despite being initially criticized at the launch of the first trailer of the series, for the quality of the visual effects, “She-Hulk: Defender of Heroes” has grown in the interest of fans, especially after the release of the latest trailer, which showed better quality and with the most refined CGI look in the series.

The series stars Jessica Gao as the main screenwriter and Kat Coiro as the lead director, and the cast, in addition to Maslany and Ruffalo, will have names like Jameela Jamil, Josh Segarra, Ginger Gonzaga, Jon Bass, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Tim Roth, Mark Ruffalo, Benedict Wong and Charlie Cox, whose looks are a big draw for Daredevil fans.

Following the date change, “She-Hulk: Defender of Heroes” arrives on Disney + on August 18, with weekly episodes on Thursdays.
