The conversation between the diplomats lasted about an hour
– Chancellor Mauro Vieira and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met this Thursday (16) at the White House in Washington, in the context of the diplomatic rapprochement initiated by presidents Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and Donald Trump.
The meeting, which lasted about an hour, was considered “very good”, according to a member of the Brazilian government interviewed by the local press.
Vieira was accompanied by the Brazilian ambassador to the United States, Maria Luiza Viotti, and diplomats Maurício Lyrio, secretary of Climate, Energy and Environment of Itamaraty, and Philip Fox-Drummond Gough, secretary of Economic and Financial Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
