Batgirl: Photo of Michael Keaton in Batman costume revealed after movie’s cancellation

Within days of the decision made by Warner Bros. canceling the release of the Batgirl movie, which was still in production, is news that will add regret to fans of the DC Comics universe.

On his Instagram account, the film’s co-director Adil El Arbi (along with fellow Belgian Bilal Falah) posted a behind-the-scenes photo of the shoot, showing the new costume played by Batman, Michael Keaton. It was worn in a superhero feature film.

Fans are holding out little hope that the suit will also be worn by the vigilantes in The Flash (but whose release may also be in jeopardy due to legal troubles facing lead actor Ezra Miller).

After the announcement of this cancellation, the two directors could count on the support of many colleagues and cinema personalities, including the head of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige, with whom Adil El Arbi and Bilal Falla collaborated. TV series Miss Marvel (of which he directed several episodes).

“My friends, I wanted to send you my best wishes for both of you. About the wonderful news (Bilal’s wedding!) and the not-so-good news about Batgirl. I’m so proud of the great work you’ve both done. Especially in the Miss Marvel series. I can’t wait for your next project About. Hope to see you soon.”

The Miss Marvel series (six episodes) is now available in its entirety exclusively on the Disney+ platform!
