Netflix: Fall in cinema, this French film is a hit on the platform!

Available on Netflix from August 1, the French sentimental comedy A Man Up to Height with Jean Dujardin and Virginie Efira won subscribers immediately after not convincing the public when it was released in cinemas.

This is an unexpected and delayed success story. In 2016, Laurent Thirard’s comedy “Man to Height” was released on the big screen. On paper, the film has everything to become a hit. First choice actress with Jean Dujardin and Virginie Efira. The director achieved mainstream success. and an original theme between the love story of Alexander, a 1m36 man, and Diana, an attractive young woman.

If romantic comedies like to bring together characters who aren’t a priori meant to meet or fall in love – we think of Pretty Woman, Love at First Sight on Notting Hill or even 20 years in the same Virgin airs – there are rare ones that are, too. Address a social issue. Here, a man’s small size is an excluded situation in the world of seduction and in a still very normative society.

Unfortunately, the film did not have the expected success in cinemas. With a total participation of 695,000, the feature film achieves a respectable score, but is far from the figures expected on the poster with such names. But within days of its arrival in the Netflix catalog, the comedy entered the top 10 movies at number seven. Great revenge!
