Lula states that Byd is making a “revolution in the Brazilian car industry”

The president said he should go to Camaçari, Bahia, in August for the actual inauguration of the Chinese company factory

Brasilia – The President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva he said this Wednesday, 2 that the Byd He is doing “a revolution in the Brazilian automotive industry”.

“Few people expected, after the lack of respect that Ford had with Bahia and Brazil, we would have put a Chinese company to make a revolution in the Brazilian automotive industry,” said President Lula.

The declaration was reported in an interview with TV Bahia, affiliate of TV Globo in Bahia.

Lula said he should go to Camaçari in August for the actual inauguration of the Byd factory. He said that Ford De Camaçari’s departure left an “emptiness”, but that Chinese society “gives life to Bahia’s industrial development” with the new factory.

“What brings a sector to a country is the market. If the industry does not see the possibility of consuming the product it produces, it does not arrive in the country. We have a strong and important market and the ability to produce to export to Latin America. Brazil needs to build partnerships with Latin America,” he said.

The Chinese company has launched operations at the Camaçari (BA) factory this week. The perspective is that until 2030, 80% of the components used for the production of vehicles are national.
