BMP says that his BC reserve accounts have been accessible in a hacker attack on the C&M software, another 5 institutions have been affected

On Wednesday BMP said he was interested, together with five other financial institutions, for a security event involving C&M software, providing technological services for transactional accounts that have no way for their connection.

“The computer security accident compromised the C&M infrastructure and allowed a bad conduct to reserve the accounts of six financial institutions, including BMP,” said the institution in a note.

“The reserve accounts are maintained directly in the Central Bank and used exclusively for the interbanca liquidation – without any report with the accounts of end customers or with sales preserved within BMP.”

Previously, the BC had informed in a declaration that the C&M software reported attacks on its technological infrastructure and that the Municipality had determined the company to reject the access of the institutions to the infrastructures managed by the company.

BMP said that none of its customers accepted its resources and has a sufficient guarantee to completely cover the affected amount, without prejudice for its operation.
