Directed by Gareth Edwards, Jurassic World: The restart brings back (once again) the classic dinosaur franchise created by Steven Spielberg
Resurrecting for the second time the dinosaur franchise created by Steven Spielberg,JURASSIC WORLD: restart It hits theaters from this Thursday, July 3, bringing a new adventure, which aims to be an exciting restart for history but, unfortunately, turns out to be just another cliché of the genre.
In the novelty, which takes place some after the events of Jurassic World: Domain (2022), we follow Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson, Black widow), an expert in secret operations, who leads a risky mission to collect dinosaur DNA samples on a remote and dangerous island. The place, once a research center for JURASSIC PARKhouses species left behind – including three colossal creatures, whose DNA contains an invaluable substance.
Even with a generic plot – and very similar to that of Kong: The Skull Island (2017) -,JURASSIC WORLD: restart It has a certain personality of its own, very thanks to its slightly self -conscious and unexpected mood.
One of the highlights of the plot is environmental message passed by the Dr. Henry (Jonathan Bailey, Wiced), which reflects how small humans are before planet Earth and how, if it wants, it can end us in a moment. This speech, the more serious it is taken, the better it works.
Another plus point is the construction of tension involving the dinosaurs. The director Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) Rescues the fear that these huge creatures are able to cause and deliver sequences that really make the heart accelerate. This strategy, clearly designed for film experience, works well within a more immersive, dark and silent display model.
In short, JURASSIC WORLD: restart It is average. You can’t demand much from a worn franchise. It remains for the public just to decide whether or not it goes to the movies and, if it is, will accept that it will probably forget the movie one hour after the session – as I forgot.
