And maybe a similar project will be successful in France, thanks to Ludovic and Zoran Bucherma, the directors of Teddy and the Year of the Shark. If the characters of their two films, which combine horror and comedy in the south-west of France, do not necessarily have to cross paths, they develop in the same world, as the two directors proved to us on the set of AlloCiné l’. emission.
“We like the idea that our films are connected”Ludovic Bucher answers. “So we’re putting elements of one movie into another.” And their new feature film was previously announced as: “At the beginning of Teddy, Grandma watches TV before being eaten by a werewolf.”Zoran recalls. “And what he’s listening to on TV is us announcing the presence of a shark in the southwest. That was already a small announcement of what was going to happen next.”
So is the Year of the Shark hiding a monster from their next movie? “yes”– says Zoran. You already see Ted in the year of the shark: for us, Maja was Ted’s aunt. And Ludovic gave us another example: “We like to connect the characters together. For example, in Teddy there is Willy, a character from our first film, who we see at one point in the photo. And there is Teddy in the photo in Maja’s in The Year. Shark, because we like to tell ourselves that all these characters are a little bit It is the same family and lives in the same world.
