Top Gun Maverick is stronger than Titanic at the US box office

Success continues for Tom Cruise and ‘Top Gun Maverick’ at the US box office. The film has just surpassed the earnings of “Titanic” across the Atlantic.

Tom Cruise is taking a new important step. Always successful at the US box office with $7 million in its eleventh week, Top Gun: Maverick is flying past its $662 million cume. Or entry into the top 7 biggest Atlantic hits of all time (in current dollars).

First off, Joseph Kosinski’s feature surpasses James Cameron’s Titanic , which “flopped” with $659.3 million between its original release in 1997 and its 3D release in 2012 (a 25th anniversary re-release is expected in 2023). Top Gun: MaverickWhich isn’t due for a VOD/Blu-ray/DVD/streaming release until the end of August in the US (an exact date has yet to be announced by Paramount Pictures), will now try to join the $678m haul. Globally, the film is now the thirteenth highest-grossing film of all time with over $1.3 billion.
