In Bullet Train, released on August 3, Brad Pitt plays a down-on-his-luck hitman determined to complete his new mission peacefully after too many of them have been derailed.
But fate has decided otherwise and takes him on the world’s fastest train next to powerful opponents who have one thing in common, but whose interests are radically different… Then he must try to get off the train.
Bullet Train marks the eighth collaboration between David Leitch and Brad Pitt. The two men first worked together on Fight Club (1999), where Leitch provided stunts for the actor.
Then they appeared several times in films such as Ocean’s Eleven, Spy Game, Spy Game and Troy. In 2018, the director even gave Pete a cameo in Deadpool 2.
Bullet Train is adapted from the Japanese novel Maria Beetle written by Kotaro Isaka and published in 2010. For screenwriter Zach Olkiewicz, it was necessary to emphasize the theme of fatality: “A hero sees his bad luck as a curse, but in reality he is a catalyst for good luck for others.”
According to stunt coordinator Greg Rementer, 57-year-old Brad Pitt did 95% of his own stunts during the filming of Bullet Train.
