Spotify betting on artificial intelligence to transform user experience

During Disclosure of results From the second quarter of 2025, Spotify managers have underlined that progress in generative artificial intelligence should make the experience of the platform increasingly interactive.

The company already allows users to speak with a virtual DJ for voice commands – a feature available for Premium subscribers – and now it plans to expand this interface to more natural and contextual conversations.

The financial objectives have not been beaten

Despite the technological advancement, the financial results have not satisfied the market. Spotify has reached 276 million paid subscribers (increase of 12%) and 696 million monthly active users, but did not achieve revenue objectives and recorded losses. The shares decreased by 10%, under pressure from weak projections and criticisms from CEO Daniel Ek to the performance of the advertising company.

Artificial intelligence, however, follows as one of the pillars for the evolution of the platform.
