Actress Margaret Qualley, star of the miniseries “Maid”, will star in the first fiction film directed by Ethan Coen after the end of her long collaboration with her brother Joel.

The project does not yet have a title or synopsis released, but it was written by Coen himself in collaboration with his wife, Tricia Cooke (director of “The Man Who Wast There”).

The cast will again include Geraldine Viswanathan (“The Gallery of Broken Hearts”) and there is no premiere date yet.

Ethan Coen began his career in the 1970s, directing short films with his brother Joel. Their first feature film was “Taste of Blood” (1984). Since then, they have starred in real movie classics, such as “Fargo: A Comedy of Errors” (1996), “The Big Lebowski” (1998) and “No Time for Old Men” (2007).

The end of the partnership was announced in 2021, followed by the release of “The Tragedy of Macbeth”, the first film directed by Joel Coen alone.

In addition to this untitled fantasy project, Ethan Coen recently completed the documentary “Jerry Lee Lewis: Trouble in Mind”, which screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

Margaret Qualley will soon be seen in the thriller “Sanctuary”, about the relationship between a client and a dominatrix, “Poor Things”, a new work from director Yorgos Lanthimos (“The Favorite”), and “The Substance”, a film directed by director Coralie. Fargeat (from the great “Revenge”).
