The boy’s case took place on May 7, but won the Internet this week. That day he was in the sports arena of the city where he lives, Paranavaí (PR).

“We discovered that it had been in PCR for some time there, at least 10 minutes,” said Samu’s rescuer, Amanda Dal Col.
He explained that when the Icu Mobile arrived, the base team was already making a heart massage on the adolescent, they had installed an automatic external defibrillator to shock the heart and offered him oxygen. So the teenager was intubated and received adrenaline.

“With a four -minute thing we arrived, we managed to get his spontaneous return. His heart beat again,” he recalled. “The family was there, simply kneeling next to him and praying for God to save his life. And always with great faith, you know? You saw that the tears were dripping, but they were there with faith and praying and asking. When I said, guys, he returned, the family started to celebrate,” said the doctor.
Amanda also says that he had to explain to the family members that, although Enzo breathed again, they did not know if he would have had a brain sequel. “Because the time in which he remained in a heart stop, and in particular the time in which he remained there without massages until the arrival, he could have very serious sequences. He could never even wake up. Or he could return with some motor disabilities, a detail.
Hospitalization and surgery
Enzo was brought to Santa Casa da Cidade and then sent to the heart of the heart of Arapongas, where it was nine days in intensive care. In the unit, it was discovered that he had hypertrophic or hypertrophic myocardiopathy cardiomyopathy, a disease that causes the thickening of the heart muscle, making it difficult to pass the blood.
Among the possible symptoms of myocardiopathy there are palpitations, tiredness in more vigorous efforts, eager episodes and thoracic pain. People who have a family history of the disease or sudden death in young people should remain aware of cardiovascular health and seek care with a cardiologist for the initial evaluation.
In the case of the student, he expressed no symptoms. Nor did he have any discomfort that the family could suspect a heart problem. Therefore, the boy had to implement the implantable cardiodio (CDI), a sort of pacemaker, which emits shock in the event of cardiac arrest.
The student is now doing a genetic test at the Heart Institute of the Clinical Hospital (Incor) of the University of San Paolo (USP), which will help investigate the disease, in addition to mapping the probability of other people in his family to develop the pathology and therefore take prevention measures.
Faith and miracle
For Enzo, in addition to medical care, his family’s faith and acquaintances helped him in this difficult moment. “I think faith was the channel for me too to have this miracle,” he started.

The mother of the teenager, Talita Barbosa, says that the doctors also believed that her son was without any sequel, even if he had been so long in cardiac arrest. I also rank the episode as a miracle.
“The doctors said that for the moment when he was found we had to be prepared for any type of sequel, but thanks to God he came out well from intensive care, they were taking his sedation, he returns, so also that we say that it is also a miracle of God because for the moment he was stopped and then returns without any sequel … it is a miracle,” he said.
The doctor Amanda also underlines that, from a medical point of view, it is very difficult for this to happen.
“He did not even have a sequel with his heart that had been practically killed for so long, from our point of view, it is very difficult to happen. We are used to attending cardiac arrest at home, on public roads, that we cannot even bring the person back or when we can take the next day to the hospital or end up finding the death of the brain, because that brain was so long without oxygen. The doctor is a miracle,” he said.
