
Neon has released the posters and trailer for “Triangle of Sadness”, a comedy that won the Palme d’Or at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. The preview highlights the satirical elements of the production, which derides the futility of super rich.
The plot follows models, influencers and oligarchs from around the world on a luxury cruise, which ends up sinking. And highlights in its cast the American Woody Harrelson (“Venom: Time of Carnage”), the English Harris Dickinson (“King’s Man: Inception”), the Filipina Dolly De Leon (“The Interruption”), the Luxembourgish Sunnyi Melles (“Fassbinder: The Rise and Fall of a Genius”), Scots Amanda Walker (“The Journey”) and South African Charlbi Dean (“Black Lightning” / Black Lighting).
“Triangle of Sadness” won the second Palme d’Or for the Swedish director Ruben Östlund, who in 2017 won the French festival with another social critic, “The Square: The Art of Discord”, aimed at the art world .
It is also the first film spoken in English by the filmmaker, who has already had one of his feature films, “Força Maior” (2014), shot again for an American audience in 2020.
The premiere will take place on October 7 in the US and there is no release date in Brazil yet.
