The Coach of Real Madrid Xabi Alonso said Monday who wants the performance of his team to talk to him by starting his first Spanish championship campaign at home against Osasuna on Tuesday.
The former Bayer Leverkusen Alonso coach, adored by real fans for his years of trophies players in Bernabéu and the Spanish team, was in charge of relaunching Madrid’s team, which ended last season without any important trophy.
At the Club World Cup, which was Alonso’s first competition as a real coach, the team was eliminated by Paris St. Germain in a 4-0 loss in the semifinal last month.
Real, under the command of Carlo Ancelotti Italiano, finished four points behind the Laliga champion in Barcelona and was unable to keep the Champions League title after being eliminated in the quarterfinals. The team also lost the King Cup final to compete with Barça.
“I’m more than doing than talking,” Alonso said to journalists. “Making promises before reciting usually does not work in football. Just saying that this will not make it happen. We want to start walking through tomorrow.”
“We are very enthusiastic and we want to bring this energy to the stadium and get their support (fan)”.
Alonso strengthened Real’s defense with the arrival of the English right back Trent Alexander-Arnold, coming from Liverpool, together with the Spanish defender Dean Huijsen, Bournemouth and the left back Alvaro Carreras from Benfica.
The reinforcements solve the defensive problems of the last season, which has damaged the real dispute of the title. Defender Dani Carvajal, who is gradually returning after the previous accident in the crusader ligament, was included in the royal team to face Osasuna.
“It’s a great competition for players and I love the fact that we can play in every position,” said Alonso. “Sometimes I will have to rotate. Carvajal is getting closer to the best, and this is very good for the team.”
However, Real will not present Antonio Ruediger (suspended), as well as the wounded left back Ferland Mendy, the midfielders Eduardo Camiving and Jude Bellingham and the striker Endrick.
Alonso also spoke of the real decision to denounce the plans of a match between Barcelona and Villarreal for Laliga in Miami in December.
The truth warned that the proposal could undermine the competitive balance of football and promised to make a petition to football leaders to block the initiative.
The match of 20 December, approved by the Spanish football federation last week, could become the first game of Laliga held abroad and the first European championship match in the United States. UEFA, Soccer, Concacaf and Fifa are required.
“I fully agree with the club’s (real) declaration. If the rules have to be changed, it must be agreed unanimously by all participants (the League). Otherwise, this cannot be done,” said Alonso.
