Following the announced end of Better Call Saul, there has been speculation among fans as to which character from the Breaking Bad universe would be best suited to be the subject of their own spin-off. But according to Vince Gilligan, the creator of those two series, it looks like it’s time to move on.
Behind the panel organized by the Television Critics Association of America (Matt Deadline), the screenwriter confirmed that new spin-offs are not currently in the works: “I don’t plan on doing anything else in this world. I know I probably said the same thing at the end of Breaking Bad. But I have to prove to myself that I can do something else.”
Revealing at the same conference that he’s proud of Better Call Saul, but also El Camino (a sequel to Breaking Bad), Vince Gilligan is currently working on a new series described as a cross between The Twilight Zone and The X-Files between. (of which he wrote several episodes), but focused more on the development of its characters than the supernatural aspect.
Remember that the final episode of Better Call Saul will air this Tuesday, August 16, exclusively on the Netflix platform.
