‘In the Lost Lands’, based on the work of George RR Martin, will be directed by the person in charge of the ‘Resident Evil’ saga Paul WS Anderson

    Almost 10 years after the first rumors that pointed out in 2015 that Jovovich mile was in talks to lead the adaptation of ‘In the Lost Lands’, a collection of three short stories written by ‘Game of Thrones’ creator George RR Martindirector Paul W.S. Anderson has confirmed that filming will begin this November.

    Anderson, the filmmaker responsible for the ‘Resident Evil’ saga and Jovovich’s partner, replaces the German Constantin Werner (‘The Pagan Queen’) as screenwriter and director of the new film, in which he also cwill feature Dave Bautista in an important role.

    During an interview with Variety on the occasion of 25th anniversary of the premiere of ‘Final Horizon’Paul W. S. Anderson has confirmed that the characters of Jovovich and Bautista will face each other in the film.

    “Oh yeah, I mean you can’t have Milla and Dave in a movie and not have them try. It’s an adaptation of a George RR Martin story, so it will be dark and twisted and have wonderful characters. Because that’s what George does.”

    According to the official synopsis, ‘In the Lost Lands’ will focus on a queen who, desperate to fulfill her love, makes a daring move: she hires the sorceress Gray Alys (Jovovich), a woman as feared as she is powerful. Sent to the ghostly wilderness of the Lost Lands, Alys and her guide, the wandering Boyce (Bautista), must outwit and defeat men and demons in this fable that explores the nature of good and evil, debt and satisfaction, love and loss.

    The collection of short stories by George R. R. Martin It is completed with two other stories. In the second story, the warrior Sharra will fight against a dragon that acts as a guardian of the seven worlds to reunite with her beloved Kaydar. The third story, with a futuristic aesthetic, introduces us to Bitterblooms, a barbarian who is haunted by a lonely witch in a spaceship.

    The premiere of ‘In the Lost Lands’ is scheduled for fall/winter 2023.
