President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said Tuesday that the United States are behaving as if they were emperors in the world and have reiterated Brazil’s sovereignty, adding that companies that wish to work in the country must respect the Brazilian law.
In a speech at the inauguration of a ministerial meeting in Brasilia, Lula said that the vice -president and the Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, Geraldo Alfinin, as well as the foreign ministers, Mauro Vieira and Fazenda, Fernando Haddad, are willing to negotiate “but that Brazil does not accept to be treated as subordinates.
