Separation: Gabriel is not an attractive character: He is quite authoritative with hotel staff and does not cause much. How did you approach her?

Jean-Baptiste Maunier: It is possible in the simplest way: at the beginning I decided it as a character that was quite impregnated with itself. Playing these items is always very enjoyable for the actor as it contradicts what I am in life. Very nice and nice to do in fiction.

When I joined the New Day Adventure, I knew what character was going to tender and I was interested. Observe a person who is quite unfriendly, even a little raw, especially with their employees to understand as episodes.

Under his heavy melodies, he is a young man who has suffered many and still suffering. He has recently undergone many trials, among the disappearance of Lucien, the discovery of his biological father, to re-detect Clément in his life, his crime for domestic violence that has experienced his mother’s relationship with Aurus, his mutilation …

It’s too much (laughs).

Yes, everything suddenly falls on it. Sometimes it is difficult to distance yourself from such a dense roleA dramatic plan?

Yes, it’s a little difficult. It feels easy from the beginning, but the pace of everyday life means that every day, we have lots of scenes. Gabriel is learning a lot, and it is a world that runs on top. It is a little difficult to manage emotionally every day, it is very tiring. But it is also very nice to get what we experienced and try to give him a character like Gabriel.

And as an actor, this is what we are looking for: we want to play, work with our emotions. Where I can get even more shots and fun, these are the scenes where Gabriel is difficult and authoritarian with employees. When you are crude emotion, you will reach things that do not leave indifferent, physically and mentally. It remains our body as an actor, and sometimes it is difficult to get out of it. Again, so I like this job, this is what is in me and try to design their screen.

With the rhythm of filming, we have a little time and we have to reach out to direct emotion. It is always delicate, but it is also an excellent exercise to try progression and subjects.

How were the scenes where Gabriel did badly? How do you prepare?

I really get hurt on every scene (laughs). These are not scenes that bother me. I talked to various directors to find out what we were going to do. Mutilation is an important subject and I realize that the new day is approaching it, as well as domestic violence. This is important because some people live daily.

I didn’t have any special training, I just wanted to try not to leave myself. I had little blisters, I had to manage small things, but that’s it. I have never felt it, but I understand that when we have to find such powerful things, physical pain is the first thing that will pass in our head. This is what we really have on our body and we will hurt ourselves paradoxically, it will alleviate psychological pain.

On the contrary, we are even more harmful. As if Gabriel was punished, he feels guilty when he has nothing in common. He blames himself for not being able to defend his mother, could not afford to hit his place, or to provide him with the one who hurts him. This guy has a lot on his heart and head.

His relationship with Aurel seems to calm down. For the first time after Lucien’s disappearance, Gabriel seems to have found a trusted paternity figure.

Yeah, exactly. Sometimes in relationships, it starts very badly because there is something hidden in us that we can’t say, but after that it becomes a very beautiful friendship. It happened with me in my life with my best friend. We couldn’t get it at all, we couldn’t get anger at first, and we talked one day and never let it go.

Gabriel needed a paternal orientation, male figure, because there is something that he cannot talk about with Kilian. And she is surrounded by many women. His grandfather was his compass. He needed someone to understand.

Aurel also experienced a difficult thing in his childhood. It is through these trials that Gabriel becomes and he will be found. As Louise also says, just when she and her husband are moving that she and her son are closer. When a little boy sees a mother with another man who is not his father, it is always difficult to digest. When Aurèle and Louise take a break that Gabriel tells herself that she can be a good guy for her mother.

In contrast, his relationship with Clement is still very tense. How will it continue?

This is very delicate because it was a man who was very hurt by Louis and Gabriel. The first thing my character wants when they meet is a response to violence. But they will learn to discover themselves. Clement says he has changed that he has done a real job on himself and Gabriel wants to believe it. We will see whether he trusts him.

How are movies shot with Helna Nogera, who is playing your mother? Your character is very protective for Louise.

I love Hellna. I knew him before filming and love to play with him. I go very well with him. I lost my mother a year ago and I have a new fictional mother, I was with her every day … she will bring me great generosity and tenderness.

And then he has a son of the same age as I, so there is a link, a program that was really naturally made between us. We already knew each other, and here we get to know each other through the games of our actors. I can’t wait to find them, he and other actors and actors, because I’m currently on vacation.

Your relationship with Frank is more than a tense, accusation that he has against Lucien. How was your cooperation Bruno solo ?

So we really hate ourselves in our lives in Bruno Solo, we don’t love each other at all, so it’s very simple, in fact, we’re doing it all by clicking, we really stood in the mouth (laughs). No, in fact, it may be delicate in the game, but it is also nice to cry for someone because we really set ourselves. Honestly, we really love each other, we are a real army. But from time to time it is fun to play. After it was cut, we laughed.

We are doing the most beautiful thing in the world, we go from one emotion to another in different characters, we can do any job, we can say something that is completely far from us, it is a real kyphen to be able to do so. And Bruno is a super actor who gives us a lot to the team. We want to be on it and send the ball to the same energy, with the same intensity.

You have previously talked about the sustainable rhythm of shooting, which pushes you not to have a long time for preparation. How is soap shooting?

Sometimes we are a little frustrated because, in scenes, we want to do it, or that, but we don’t have time. There is always a little frustration, but it is also a game of everyday life. It goes so fast that we do not know how it will happen. This is another exercise, this is another way, you have to be at that moment.

There are also technical restrictions; In life we ​​can be less frozen when we are with other characters in the same room, we would make more gestures. Again, it’s part of the game. I already took it in everyday life, so I knew how it worked. Finally, the frustration that we can feel is fast, because we go on stage and have no time to think.

How to distinguish your experience in a new day We belong to tomorrow ?

Tomorrow we belong to us, my character was really terrible, but the game was very funny. It was in a shorter and concentrated period. On the new day, I was there from the beginning. Otherwise, the pace is almost the same, and I often see technicians and directors with whom I was already working tomorrow. This is easier when you come and know 80 %of the team, you feel confident.
