The 2024 champion was Hawaiian John John Florence, who imposed a break in the Brazilian sequence. Brazil was a consecutive champion from 2018 to 2023. In the interval, there were two successes of Medina, two of Filipe Toledo and one by Italo Ferreira. By 2020, the competition was canceled due to pandemic.
