The lift of Gloria in Lisbon derailed and fell on Wednesday 3 and killed at least one person. According to the Portuguese newspaper Diário de Notícias, at least 20 people were injured and five of them had serious injuries. More than 30 police and emergency teams are in Avenida da Liberdade, one of the main streets of the city, where the accident occurred.

The police confirmed the accident, but did not provide details. The strengthening of the continuous rescue services in place in an attempt to save the victims attached to the hardware.
